Studio Photographer

 About Us

ZigZag Photography is a very well-established quality portrait photography studio, based in Leicester. We provide a first-class family portrait experience, creating special memories at key stages of people’s lives, from babies to grandparents and often also including the pet (usually dogs!) with finished framed products to then be treasured ‘wall art’ for generations to come. It's a fast paced, busy, focused and very positive team environment. We work hard but laugh a lot. Job satisfaction is very high along with team appreciation which has many benefits. Everyone works together towards common goals, and we all share the same pride in the service we offer.

About the Role

Our continued growth has created a very exciting opportunity for the right person to join our well-established creative team.

Based at our studio in Leicester this is an ‘all-rounder role’, as being able to take a good picture on its own is not enough. We create a fun and memorable entertaining experience for our clients every single time. Every client is different as is their family, their taste, their décor and their budget – so this role requires a lot of skills from great photography potential – alongside excellent people skills, sales skills potential and a passion for always delivering first class customer service.

List of typical daily tasks (once trained):

·         Taking creative, quality portraits of a wide range of families and age groups from newborns, babies to couple shoots, generation shoots and often also often including the family pet (mainly dogs!).

·         Editing images in Adobe Photoshop and creating a presentation ready for customer viewings

·         Viewing sales (selling high quality finished products and frames to customers to suit their individual home interior, taste and budgets). The best way to describe this is showcasing images in a slideshow then, discussing the client’s needs, home décor, taste and budgets then personalising the products to suit them. It’s a very personal service and this aspect of the role requires both ‘sales skills potential’ alongside quick thinking, negotiation and good taste, in order to enthuse the best ideas to suit each customer. Our sales process is quality orientated – not pushy – but is target focused.

·         Office duties, answering and making calls, greeting customers etc.

The Ideal Candidate

·         A good communicator, with the potential to be good at sales (with the right training by us).

·         You need to be great with people of all ages, but especially children.

·         A creative outlook with a good eye for detail.

·         A reasonable understanding of Adobe Photoshop

·         Potential to be good at face-to-face product sales with the right training provided by us.

·         Confident, with an outgoing personality with a highly positive attitude.

·         Quick learner, able to take on feedback and drive own progression with our support.

·         Team player who can also work independently.

·         Must be able to drive and have access to a car.

Please note the photographer role typically requires a good level of fitness – as there is a lot of running around the studio to make kids laugh and get the best

shots.
